Fees for advisory services

Occasionally, we come across someone who has not yet experienced the benefits of having professional and competent financial services. They may have trouble figuring out why others pay for these services.

Some professional services such as completing a tax return, treating an illness, or filling a cavity may only be needed once a year or even less. On the other hand, investment management, consulting, and related account service is best accomplished with ongoing attention. A competent professional financial service typically may include:

  • Offering you objective investment advice on sustainable investing and market conditions
  • Performing ongoing due diligence on investment funds, managers, and other related services
  • Assisting you with your financial plan that can change with a death, a birth, a marriage, a divorce, or one hundred other things
  • Helping you control financially counter-productive emotions
  • Keeping you "balanced, yet flexible" in a constantly changing world
  • Education about opportunities and risks
  • Motivating you to make needed timely decisions
  • Making you aware of consequences under various scenarios
  • Staying current on financial trends and continuing education on your behalf
  • Taking responsibility that no one else wants to take
  • Developing and maintaining an investment policy statement (IPS)
  • Managing tax-efficiency when applicable and requested
  • Rebalancing your portfolio in accordance with your IPS as necessary
  • Offering periodic financial reviews and consultations
  • Disclosure of possible conflicts of interest, if any
  • Disclosure of charges and fees before and during services engagement
  • Shareholder dialog and action coordinated as appropriate to improve corporate practices
  • Voting your shareholder proxies as you would if you had the time and patience
  • Attention to your communicated changing goals or situation
  • Investments receiving the care of a fiduciary
  • Periodic account reporting prepared by a third-party

And of course, like any good professional, we care about you. Click here to view the advisory services fee schedule. Please call and/or email us to personally discuss your situation so we can help you decide which services might best fit your needs.
